Your Tasks
Advising with quality awareness: As part of a motivated team, you support the diverse specialist areas of the Department of Construction and Transport with your sound legal knowledge.
Shaping solutions: You analyse legal issues, contribute your legal creativity and find appropriate solutions for the needs of your clients. You mainly work in general administrative law and support the team as needed in private construction and contract law.
Ensuring communication: You enjoy communicating competently both orally and in writing with various contacts inside and outside the cantonal administration.
Applying skills: You provide oral and written legal advice and assist in drafting contracts and legal documents. In addition, you prepare reports for the government and the Grand Council.
Your Profile
Experience: Ideally, you have initial professional experience in general administrative law as well as contract law (especially contracts for work and services and mandates).
Personality: You are open, collegial and service-oriented. You work independently, like to think outside the box and are persistent when necessary. You communicate skilfully and solution-oriented with different interest groups.
Education: You have a completed degree in law (lic. iur. / MLaw).

The General Secretariat is an advisor, initiator and central steering body of the Department of Construction and Transport. With services in areas such as finance and controlling, HR, communication and legal affairs, it supports the department management and the department's offices. It is responsible for the smooth handling of political matters. As part of the Department of Construction and Transport, the General Secretariat cares for the current and future infrastructure of the canton and contributes to the high quality of life in Basel.
