Although the municipality of Münchenstein today almost seamlessly merges into the city of Basel, it has retained its independence and its own charm and character.
We are looking for a motivated, humorous, and resilient personality for the Spatial Planning & Environment department. You will lead our team as
immediately or by arrangement.
Your tasks
The Spatial Planning & Environment department covers the areas of spatial planning, nature, energy, waste, cadastre, and building permit matters. As Head of Spatial Planning & Environment, you have the professional and personnel leadership of the department and ensure coordination and knowledge exchange within the building administration. The implementation of overarching strategic planning such as larger area developments or revisions of zoning regulations falls within your area of responsibility. In doing so, you develop planning and decision-making bases as well as concepts and solution proposals. Writing applications, reports, and statements for the municipal council, the municipal assembly, and advisory specialist commissions are also part of your activities. As Head of Spatial Planning & Environment, you are responsible for annual and multi-year planning, budgeting, cost control, deadline monitoring, and controlling. In building permit matters, your assistance is required in assessing and interpreting technical bases such as concepts or regulations within the framework of preliminary inquiries and building projects. Another part of your activity includes organizing and conducting events of the Spatial Planning & Environment department, accompanying communicative processes, and participating in internal commissions. Within the framework of the Birsstadt association, you maintain close contact with partner municipalities and cantonal specialist offices. For technical information in the field of spatial planning, you are available to the public, companies, and authorities.
Your perspectives
We offer an exciting and varied activity with high personal responsibility, contemporary employment conditions, and a competent and pleasant working environment.
Our expectations
You have a professional or university degree in spatial planning or a related field (e.g., geography, environmental sciences) and/or a postgraduate diploma in one of the aforementioned areas and bring several years of professional experience in spatial planning or a comparable environment as well as leadership experience. In addition, you have a great interest in spatial planning and urban development topics, related disciplines such as mobility, ecology, and energy, as well as the interdisciplinarity of the community. This task requires a high degree of independence, resilience, organizational skills, assertiveness, teamwork, and flexibility. You are also familiar with common MS Office applications and have a convincing expression in spoken and written language. You bring commitment and are an engaged person who enjoys the profession. A touch of humor rounds off your personality.
If you have any questions, Benjamin Kobler, Head of Spatial Planning & Environment, is happy to assist you at 061 416 13 17.
