About the job
Say goodbye to anonymous investors and purely economically driven decisions. Here you work in an environment led by doctors where the medical care of the population is the focus. In the medium term, there is the possibility to become a partner if desired. You benefit from an infrastructure that goes far beyond what traditional GP practices usually offer.
You work in a young and modernly equipped group practice in Toggenburg, which was opened a few years ago in fully renovated premises of the former hospital. The practice benefits from an infrastructure that often resembles an outpatient health centre rather than a classic GP practice.
Currently, three general practitioners are active, supported by a well-coordinated team of six MPA and MPK staff members. The culture is characterised by openness, mutual support, and the conviction that good general practice medicine requires long-term relationships and continuity.
The practice was deliberately designed generously and has six consulting rooms. This allows for various working models. Whether part-time, classic full-time, or a gradual increase in working hours over time – the management is consciously flexible and wants to enable individual solutions that suit both the needs of the practice and your personal life situation.
In the same building, there are various medical specialties and specialist consultations, including cardiology, orthopaedics, urology, gastroenterology, pneumology, surgery, and diabetes counselling. This creates short distances and enables personal professional exchange in everyday life.
You also benefit diagnostically from excellent conditions. In addition to the planned own ultrasound diagnostics, modern radiological services with X-ray, CT, and MRI are available directly on site.
Your tasks:
- Independent management of a general practice consultation
- Long-term care of a personal patient base
- Diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases
- Gradual takeover of existing patients
- Coordination of care with specialists, clinics, and other service providers
- Active participation in the further development of the practice
- Involvement in processes, procedures, and medical services
- Depending on interest, taking on additional organisational or operational responsibility
Your competencies:
- Specialist title in General Internal Medicine, General Practitioner, or equivalent qualification, especially the German specialist title in General Medicine
- German language skills at C1 level
- Enjoyment of personal and long-term oriented general practice medicine
- Interest in accompanying your own patient base permanently
- Team-oriented, down-to-earth, and reliable personality
- Entrepreneurial interest is welcome but not a prerequisite
- For candidates from abroad: Medimeo supports you with advice and financially in recognising your diplomas with MEBEKO
Your advantages:
- Already existing and extensive patient base with high demand
- Modern practice with spacious premises and six consulting rooms
- Attractive income model with guaranteed fixed salary and variable components
- Possibility of later participation in the practice
- Perspective on operational responsibility and shaping the future development of the practice
- Family-friendly working models with 50-100% workload
- 45-hour week for a 100% workload
- 5 weeks holiday
- 1 week paid further training
- Possibility of additional unpaid leave
- Relieving emergency service model within the regional clinic structure
- Doctor-led ownership structure without external financial investor
- Collegial environment with high personal responsibility and short decision-making paths

This position is especially suitable for doctors who are looking not only for a new job but for a long-term place to live.
Toggenburg offers plenty of nature, short distances, family-friendly structures, and at the same time surprisingly good infrastructure. Schools, childcare, shopping facilities, and further education opportunities are located directly in the region. The new campus of the Kantonsschule Wattwil further expands the educational offerings.
Those who enjoy hiking, cycling, skiing, or spending their leisure time outdoors will find ideal conditions here. At the same time, housing costs remain attractive compared to many Swiss centres.
