The Centre for Developmental and Neuropsychiatry (led by Dr. (BG) Sandra Schleusener and Tabea Blatter) is part of the Clinic for Consultation, Geriatrics and Neuropsychiatry (Clinic Director Dr. med. Rafael Meyer). It offers a unique assessment and treatment service in Switzerland for people with intellectual developmental disorders (learning disabilities) and mental illness. In addition to a neuropsychiatric outpatient clinic, the centre has an interdisciplinary assessment unit, a consultation and liaison service for facilities for people with intellectual developmental disorders, as well as a specialised ward that meets the latest scientific findings and quality standards in terms of facilities and treatment concepts.

Profile

• You have successfully completed training in social pedagogy and already have professional experience, preferably experience working with people with intellectual developmental disorders and/or challenging behaviour
• You are flexible, committed, resilient, and a responsible individual who enjoys demanding patient care in a lively environment
• You are interested, proactive, and willing to contribute your expertise within the framework of an overall treatment plan in a multidisciplinary team
• You speak fluent German and have a confident command of common Office applications

Tasks

• You support the interdisciplinary treatment team with pedagogical issues and challenging behaviours and propose solutions
• In the role of key worker, you take on case-related, participative promotion and care of specifically assigned patients
• You help shape the daily structure in collaboration with the core team and other specialist departments
• You support the systemic approach with the patient’s social environment
• You share responsibility for implementing the treatment plan
