Introduction
Unilabs is the largest provider of medical laboratory diagnostics for prescribers and hospitals in Switzerland and employs around 800 people.
Your Tasks
Reporting to the Head of Legal & Compliance Switzerland, you will support Unilabs Switzerland's activities across a wide range of legal, contractual, regulatory and compliance matters.
In close collaboration with the commercial, operational, medical, purchasing and support functions teams, you will provide clear, pragmatic and solution-oriented advice, reconciling the company’s objectives with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
You will be involved in both daily activities and strategic projects in a demanding and constantly evolving healthcare sector environment. Your success will depend on your ability to develop trust-based relationships with stakeholders, exercise discernment and propose balanced solutions that enable the company to achieve its objectives while managing its risks.
Your main responsibilities
Legal advice & business support
- Provide clear, pragmatic and operational legal advice.
- Support teams in their daily activities and strategic projects.
- Identify legal, regulatory and reputational risks and propose appropriate solutions.
- Manage cases from initial analysis through implementation to closure.
- Coordinate external legal advice when necessary.
Contracts
- Draft, analyse and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts (clients, suppliers, healthcare professionals, partnerships and collaborations).
- Support commercial projects, renewals, amendments and contract terminations.
- Ensure compliance with approval processes, proper documentation and legal security of commitments.
Compliance & regulated environment
- Advise on regulatory requirements applicable to Laboratory, Pathology, Genetics and Radiology activities.
- Participate in compliance mechanisms related notably to interactions with healthcare professionals, corruption prevention, conflicts of interest and third-party due diligence.
- Contribute to risk assessments, internal investigations and remediation plans.
- Participate in drafting and deploying policies, procedures and training.
Governance & cross-functional projects
- Support governance activities and legal secretariat of Swiss entities.
- Collaborate with local and Group teams on data protection and confidentiality issues.
- Deploy the Group’s Legal & Compliance initiatives in Switzerland.
- Participate in strategic projects such as acquisitions, integrations and transformations.
Your Profile
Your profile
- Master’s degree in law.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in law and compliance.
- Successful professional experience in Switzerland and good knowledge of the Swiss legal and regulatory environment.
- Experience in the private sector is essential; in-house experience is an asset.
- Experience in healthcare, medical diagnostics, life sciences or a regulated environment is appreciated.
- Experience in contract law and compliance.
- Good knowledge of Swiss data protection law.
- Excellent command of English and French or German; proficiency in all three languages is an advantage.
- Pragmatic, autonomous and solution-oriented, with excellent judgement.
- Rigorous, organised and attentive to detail.
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a demanding environment.
- Comfortable interacting with diverse interlocutors and able to influence constructively.
- Reliable, responsible and results-oriented.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
