University of Applied Sciences in Computer Science FHNW, Institute for Data Science
Your tasks:
The advertised position offers the opportunity to actively participate in research projects of the Institute for Data Science (i4DS) at FHNW and to apply modern methods from Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Natural Language Processing in practice. Your tasks mainly include:
- Design, implementation, training, and evaluation of AI models, including for NLP applications – with Large Language Models as well as speech-to-text and text-to-speech solutions in Swiss German; development of applications in the computer vision area is also planned later
- Integration of the models into operational applications using various frameworks and high-performance computing infrastructure
- Optional participation in teaching activities
Your profile:
- Completed master’s or bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a comparable field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience in the field of Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) is required; knowledge in Natural Language Processing (NLP) is an advantage.
- Strong interest in practically applying ML, DL, and NLP methods as well as new data science approaches.
- Experience in ML and data analysis, solid programming skills, and experience with DL frameworks (e.g., Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Team spirit, enjoyment of regular exchange and joint development
The position is initially limited to 1 year.
