The Geneva Foundation for Sociocultural Animation is a partner institution, funded by the Canton and municipalities, whose mission is to promote and maintain social cohesion in the canton of Geneva, that is to ensure the quality of the relationship between individuals and society. Through socio-educational, sociocultural, and associative field actions carried out by centers and outreach teams, the Foundation meets the population's needs in terms of meeting, exchange, solidarity, citizenship, and quality of life, with a general objective of preventing social exclusion.
A position for a 75% socio-cultural animator is open within the Libellules Neighborhood House association.
Job Description
- Take responsibility for animation, socio-educational work, and free reception of neighborhood residents: children, pre-teens, teens, young adults, adults, and seniors, in accordance with the association's project
- Participate in the development of associative life and neighborhood animation through a space for sharing, meetings, exchanges, and activities open to the public, promoting respect, tolerance, and solidarity among residents of different cultures
- Actively participate in the development of the Neighborhood House's activity program and the follow-up of the associative project in consultation with the team and the association's committee
- Assume management tasks related to activities, including supervising monitors, ECG interns, ASE apprentices, and HETS students
- Develop and maintain dynamic and trusting internal communication among the center's partners, ensuring the flow of information between the team, the committee, FASe, and municipal authorities.
Qualifications
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in social work, HES level or an equivalent university degree (education sciences, sociology, psychology, anthropology, ethnology / State Diploma of Specialized Educator (DEES), State Higher Diploma of Youth, Popular Education and Sport (DESJEPS). SEFRI recognition of the DEES/DESJEPS must be obtained during the first year in the position and grants access to the maximum function class
- Successful experience in animation and interest in neighborhood development issues, sensitivity to environmental matters
- Ability and willingness to work in a team and network
- Recognized skills in project design and presentation, creative and dynamic spirit
- Good experience in organization and planning, priority management
- Ability to work autonomously while working in a team
- Ability to write reports, use common computer software, rigor, and respect deadlines
- Experience in communication, multimedia, and social networks
- Good knowledge of the Geneva social system and the functioning of FASe
- Knowledge in HR management.
Additional Information
- Availability, openness to flexible and irregular hours (activities on Friday evenings and weekends). Available Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Salary according to the Geneva State salary scale: maximum class 15
