The basic services of the Security Police South are the cornerstone of the police operational chain. The basic services of the Security Police South include the operational units 1-6 of the Lucerne city region, as well as the police regions Emmen and Kriens-Horw.

Your tasks

Leadership of the basic services sub-area in agreement with the direct supervisor, professionally competent, employee- and future-oriented
Planning and determination of police procedures or strategy and operational concept as well as flexible focus and prioritisation considering the current situation and in close cooperation with the Head of Special Services and the cadres of the respective police region
Ensuring a needs-based and economical use of personnel and material resources as well as creating organisational conditions for an efficient basic service
Early recognition of relevant developments in the social and police environment and jointly deriving appropriate measures with the Head of Security Police South and other leaders
Planning and leading frontline service deployments at difficult and significant events or incidents
Participation in forward-looking projects and active involvement in the holistic and sustainable development of the Security Police South
Representation and support of the Head of Security Police South, participation in various committees and working groups as well as promotion and embodiment of an open and appreciative organisational culture
Open, goal- and result-oriented collaboration with various authorities and committees
Maintaining diverse professional contacts and building a network as a basis for targeted, flexible and citizen-oriented police work
On-call duty as a police officer

Your profile

Completed police training with qualified further education as a prerequisite for the leadership role
Strong decision-making and assertiveness skills as well as the ability to maintain an overview even in complex, dynamic or extraordinary situations
Solid personal experience in police work in an urban environment and high sensitivity to the associated challenges. Strong connection to the city and agglomeration of Lucerne
Several years of police leadership experience and strong ability to lead subordinate cadres in a goal-oriented manner
High communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to create and promote an open and appreciative climate of trust
Ability for networked and holistic thinking as well as willingness to actively shape diverse and innovative projects. Proven experience and competence as a project manager or sub-project manager
Strong adaptability, resilience, openness, loyalty and discretion, combined with a good sense for communication and excellent written expression skills
