The Integration business unit of BSB operates a small class of five to six pupils with cognitive impairments and special educational needs on behalf of the Basel-Stadt public school. The pupils have completed compulsory schooling and are supported by the IV. The aim of the two-year programme is to prepare them for supervised day activities or a suitable workplace. The weekly teaching time comprises 25 lessons. 

In this exciting area of responsibility, you support the responsible teacher in daily school life and contribute to the individual promotion of the pupils. You accompany the young people both in lessons and in care situations and actively implement support goals and learning opportunities. With commitment, you create a structured and appreciative learning environment, provide materials according to the individual needs of the pupils, and document their development. 

• Completed training as a Childcare Specialist EFZ or an equivalent social/pedagogical qualification 
• Professional experience with young people requiring support 
• Flexibility regarding working hours (up to 90%, to compensate for the 14 weeks of school holidays)
• Empathy, patience and enjoyment of working in a school context 
• Structured and responsible way of working
• Good German language skills, spoken and written.
