Manager of the North Management
Low Construction Office | 80–100 % | Samedan
The Low Construction Office is responsible for the planning, construction, maintenance, and management of the cantonal roads as well as for the correction of watercourses and non-motorized traffic in Graubünden. Furthermore, we take care of the functional maintenance of the national roads within the cantonal territory. The infrastructure of the cantonal roads includes over 1450 artificial structures, including bridges of considerable height up to 90 meters and tunnels up to 3 kilometers long. The natural challenges that arise in summer and winter in our mountain canton make our work demanding and multifaceted. As a certified office with "Friendly Work Space," the health and satisfaction of our approximately 480 employees are especially close to our hearts. For this reason, we are committed to systematic health management in the company (MSM).
We are looking for May 1, 2026 or by agreement for a manager of the North Management for the Road Maintenance Division in District 3 Samedan
Your field of responsibilities
- Professionally and personally lead the Functional Maintenance North team
- Plan and implement the functional maintenance of the cantonal roads
- Plan the actions of the two maintenance groups with a total of about 15 employees, vehicles, and equipment in cooperation with the two supervisors who report directly to you
- Support the Construction department with managerial tasks for the architectural maintenance of the cantonal roads
- Provide on-call service as action leader and be ready to cooperate in avalanche service
What we expect from you
- Diploma as a foreman or construction manager or as a construction manager
- Several years of experience in road construction or road maintenance sectors
- Experience in leading people and entrepreneurial thinking
- Persuasiveness and own initiative
- High autonomy and strong sense of responsibility
- Good computer skills
- Very good spoken and written German skills
- Good knowledge of Italian and Romansh is an advantage
