Senior Consultant / Senior Consultant Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine (m/f/d)

In this role, you work in a university environment with high interventional expertise and modern infrastructure. You take responsibility in a clearly structured clinical organisation while also having scope for design. In the outpatient setting, you benefit from predictable working hours without night or weekend shifts on site. You engage in a small, specialised, interprofessional team and contribute your expertise purposefully. In addition, you promote your academic development, participate in teaching and scientific projects, and prospectively take on a clearly defined area of responsibility.
Responsibilities:
- You independently perform complex interventional pain therapies (ultrasound- and X-ray-guided)
- In this role, you assume professional daily responsibility in the outpatient setting and the on-call service for inpatient acute pain medicine at weekends
- As a senior consultant in anaesthesia and pain medicine, you supervise and support assistant doctors in their training
- You are responsible for structured interdisciplinary case management within a biopsychosocial treatment concept
- In this role, you build and lead a specialised clinic according to your expertise and help shape the strategic development of outpatient pain medicine
- As a senior consultant in anaesthesia and pain medicine, you optionally participate in clinical and translational research
Qualifications:
- You have recognised specialist training in anaesthesiology in Switzerland or an equivalent qualification.
- You hold the SSIPM certificate in interventional pain therapy or equivalent proven expertise.
- You have at least two years of independent work experience in interventional pain medicine.
- You have very solid experience in fluoroscopy-guided spinal interventions such as facet joints, periradicular therapies, sympathetic blocks and denervations.
- You apply ultrasound-guided nerve and fascia blocks confidently.
- You bring experience in organising an outpatient clinic or a comparable leadership role and possess high structural, clinical and communicative competence.
