The Information Department produces numerous offerings for audio, video and SRF's digital channels. With diverse news and background formats as well as contextualising discussion and advisory programmes on current events in politics, economy and society, SRF facilitates the audience's opinion formation – informative, competent and independent.
Trainee: Domestic News
What are your tasks?
The TV editorial team for domestic news in the SRF Newsroom supplies the daily TV programmes "Schweiz aktuell", "Tagesschau" and "10vor10" with TV reports from Switzerland. For our editorial team, we are looking for two trainees from 4 January 2027 for a duration of six months (until 30 June 2027).
The following tasks await you:
- You will work in the SRF Newsroom and support experienced TV journalists
- You will carry out clarifications and research and contribute your own ideas
- You will independently conduct TV interviews
- You will adapt TV contributions from RTS/RSI/RTR for SRF and, if possible, produce TV contributions independently
What do you bring with you?
- Openness and enthusiasm for journalistic questions – high independence, persistence and perseverance
- First experience in journalistic work in an editorial office (print, online, radio or TV)
- Great interest in domestic politics, the functioning of Switzerland and everyday topics
- Passion for storytelling in images and the craft of television (also regarding technical aspects, possibly VJ experience)

- Learning the basics of TV craftsmanship, also through introductory courses
- Further training in handling news topics, developing content and research
