Service Engineer / Service Technician

The Company

Our client, based in Volketswil, is a specialised Swiss company in compressed air and process gas technology. They design, implement and maintain technically demanding systems for industrial, railway and laboratory applications. The focus is on customised solutions, high technical quality and a strong practical orientation. On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Service Engineer / Service Technician m/f to start immediately or by arrangement.

Your Tasks

In this versatile role, you will undertake demanding service and assembly work in the field of compressed air and process gas systems. These include, among others:

• Service, maintenance and repair of existing compressor systems and nitrogen generators

• Service and repair work on compressors on locomotives

• Conversions and technical adjustments on locomotives

• Installation and commissioning of new systems

• Assembly of complete systems directly at the customer’s site

• Systematic fault finding on mechanical, hydraulic and electrical components

• Manufacture of customer-specific compressed air solutions and apparatus

• Instruction and training of operating personnel

• Service and maintenance of laboratory gas systems such as nitrogen, hydrogen or comparable systems

• Participation in on-call duty (approx. 6 to 7 weekend duties per year, with an average of one deployment per calendar year)

Your Profile

Working on customers’ systems is technically demanding and varied. You bring the necessary openness and resilience to analyse and resolve even complex faults under time pressure and sometimes in the presence of customers. You always maintain a professional, customer-oriented attitude.

In addition, you bring:

• Completed basic mechanical training or equivalent professional experience

• Technical understanding and interest in new tasks and technologies

• Independent, flexible and responsible working style

• Enjoyment of direct customer contact and changing places of work

• Willingness to work throughout Switzerland, with occasional overnight stays (focus on German-speaking Switzerland)
