For us, this means moving beyond the traditional model where engineers spend most of their time manually implementing code. We believe AI can take over an increasing part of implementation work — giving great engineers more time to focus on what creates the greatest value: understanding problems, designing solutions, shaping products, making architectural decisions, and ensuring exceptional quality.

That is why we are looking for a Solution Engineer – Fullstack.

You are an experienced software engineer at heart, but your role goes beyond writing code. You know how to orchestrate AI development tools, provide the right context and constraints, review and challenge AI-generated implementations, and turn business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

You will help us shape not only our products, but also a new way of engineering them.

🚀 Mission

Join us as a Solution Engineer – Fullstack and help us build the next generation of our commerce platforms and internal systems through an AI-first engineering approach.

Your mission is not simply to produce code. Your mission is to build great solutions.

You will translate product and business challenges into technical concepts, design scalable architectures, break complex problems into executable tasks and use modern AI development tools to accelerate implementation.

You remain technically accountable for the result: reviewing generated code, challenging architectural decisions, testing assumptions and ensuring that what we ship is secure, maintainable and scalable.

By reducing the time spent on repetitive implementation work, we want our engineers to spend more time on the areas where human judgement creates the greatest impact: product thinking, architecture, problem solving, quality and innovation.

Your Responsibilities

🤖 AI-First Engineering

• Use AI as an integral part of your daily engineering workflow — from exploration and solution design to implementation, testing, documentation and optimisation
• Orchestrate AI development tools by providing the right context, requirements, constraints and technical direction
• Review, challenge and improve AI-generated code rather than treating generated output as a finished solution
• Build effective workflows in which engineers and AI agents collaborate efficiently across the software development lifecycle
• Continuously experiment with new AI capabilities and help evolve our internal AI-first engineering practices

🏗️ Solution & Architecture Design

• Turn business and product requirements into pragmatic, scalable and maintainable technical solutions
• Design services, APIs, integrations, data models and system interactions across our technology landscape
• Think beyond individual tickets and understand how changes affect the wider product and architecture
• Make conscious architectural decisions and evaluate trade-offs between speed, complexity, scalability and maintainability
• Take technical ownership of solutions from initial idea through implementation and production

⚙️ Commerce Engineering

• Build and evolve our commerce platforms and internal systems based on Symfony, Sylius and modern API architectures
• Design and maintain REST and GraphQL APIs used by our frontends, partners and internal services
• Extend Sylius through custom resources, plugins, events and business-specific workflows
• Work with technologies including Doctrine ORM, Symfony Messenger, RabbitMQ, Redis, MySQL/PostgreSQL and API Platform
• Contrbute hands-on on frontend initiatives working with React and Next.js
• Step into development whenever complexity, debugging or critical engineering decisions require it

🔍 Engineering Quality & Technical Ownership

• Take responsibility for the technical quality of solutions regardless of whether code was written manually or generated with AI
• Review implementations critically for architecture, maintainability, performance, security and correctness
• Ensure appropriate automated testing and validation are part of the engineering process
• Investigate complex technical problems and production issues where deeper engineering expertise is required
• Improve observability, performance and reliability across our applications
• Contribute to reusable engineering patterns, standards and technical documentation

🧠 Product Thinking & Collaboration

• Work closely with Product Owners, QA and fellow Solution Engineers to turn ideas into working products
• Challenge requirements constructively and contribute technical perspectives early in the product development process
• Break larger initiatives into clear technical solutions and executable increments
• Work within an agile environment influenced by Scrum and Team Topologies
• Help us continuously improve how Product, Engineering and QA collaborate — including identifying where AI can make each part of the process more effective

Your Profile

• You have a strong professional software engineering background and are capable of understanding, reviewing and challenging production-grade code
• You have solid practical experience with at least two of the following technologies/frameworks: Symfony, Sylius and Next.js
• You have experience designing APIs, integrations, data models and distributed application architectures
• You understand databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL and are comfortable discussing schema design, queries and performance
• You have practical experience working with AI-assisted development and actively use AI as part of your engineering workflow
• You understand both the opportunities and limitations of AI-generated software and know that generated code still requires engineering judgement and accountability
• You are interested in AI agents, context engineering, automated development workflows and emerging AI engineering practices
• You are comfortable moving between architecture, product discussions, implementation and code review
• You have solid experience working in agile product teams using Scrum and/or Team Topologies principles
• You think in terms of solutions and outcomes, not simply tickets and lines of code
• You have strong analytical skills and enjoy breaking complex problems into understandable and executable parts
• You take ownership and are comfortable making technical decisions in a fast-moving environment
• You are proficient in English (spoken and written); German or French is a bonus
• Experience with technologies such as Docker, API Platform, Redis, RabbitMQ, GitLab CI/CD and cloud environments is a plus
• Most importantly: you are genuinely curious about how AI is changing software engineering and want to actively shape that transformation rather than watch it happen

The Team Around You

You will be part of an engineering organisation that is evolving from traditional software development towards AI-enabled product engineering.

You will work alongside other Solution Engineers and collaborate closely with Product Owners, QA and our engineering leadership. While responsibilities remain specialised, we want AI to help us reduce unnecessary boundaries between disciplines and make the entire product development process faster and more effective.

Product Owners continue to provide product direction and business context. QA continues to provide a strong quality perspective. Engineers continue to provide deep technical expertise. But instead of seeing those responsibilities as isolated steps, we want people and AI to work together throughout the entire lifecycle — from an initial idea to a reliable production solution.
