Applications must be submitted in writing with a cover letter, a brief CV and a recently issued (not older than one year) criminal record and debt enforcement extract.

Description of the office
Assessors hold a part-time judicial office and have judicial decision-making powers ( Art. 4 JG ). They are summoned as needed by the authority concerned. Assessors receive meeting fees according to Art. 79a JR . Assessors are elected by the Grand Council upon recommendation of the Judicial Council. The Judicial Council advertises judicial offices for application to the Grand Council ( Art. 12 JG ).
Desired profile
- Professional training in property valuation and/or membership in a valuation expert chamber for real estate and/or certificate as a court expert
- Sufficient availability (meetings during the day)
- Voting rights in cantonal matters. Foreign nationals must hold a residence permit and have lived in the canton for at least five years. There must be no loss certificates against the person. They must not have been criminally convicted for acts incompatible with the judicial office
- Proficiency in German or French with good knowledge of the other language
