The Clinic for Forensic Psychiatry (KFP) consists of the Expert Opinion Unit, the Centre for Forensic Psychiatry Inpatient (ZFPS) and the Centre for Forensic Psychiatry Outpatient (ZFPA). The Expert Opinion Unit produces numerous expert reports annually for official clients. The ZFPS includes six wards with a total of 74 beds, where mentally ill offenders are treated within the framework of court-ordered therapeutic measures (Art. 59 Swiss Criminal Code) and crisis interventions are carried out for patients from correctional and remand prisons. The ZFPA runs a forensic outpatient clinic and offers a prison psychiatric consultation and liaison service.
Profile
- You have a recognised specialist qualification in psychiatry and psychotherapy or are advanced in specialist training
- Your attitude towards forensic psychiatric patients is appreciative and risk-aware
- You are interested in modern, integrative forensic psychiatric treatment
- You enjoy working in interdisciplinary teams
Responsibilities
- As part of an interdisciplinary treatment team, you ensure integrative, multimodal long-term therapy of patients in the ZFPS
- You lead the psychiatric-pharmacological and medical treatment of patients through a team of dedicated assistant doctors
- You supervise the psychiatric-psychotherapeutic training of assistant doctors on your wards
- For some of the patients under measures, you initiate therapy under highly secure conditions
- You conduct inpatient assessments on differential diagnostic questions and on the treatability of mentally ill offenders
- In the context of inpatient acute treatments of prison inmates, you work closely with the Psychiatric-Psychological Service (PPD) of the Lenzburg Prison and the health service of the Aargau prisons
- If interested, there is the possibility to teach at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) and to prepare criminal law expert reports
- If interested, there is the opportunity to obtain the FMH specialist title "Forensic Psychiatry and Psychotherapy"
