Do you want to support people with mental illnesses holistically and include social, professional and personal areas of life? At the outpatient clinic of Psychiatry Biel, you will find a versatile and bilingual working environment where you can specifically apply your social work expertise. Our interprofessional team offers competent, timely and individual psychiatric treatment and supports people with a wide range of mental illnesses. As part of the outpatient services of the UPZ, you work closely with professionals from medicine, psychology and nursing as well as with private practitioners and external partner organisations. You support our patients with social, financial, legal and professional issues and develop concrete perspectives for their everyday lives together with them. You can expect varied tasks, a lot of personal responsibility and the opportunity to sustainably empower people even in challenging life situations.

Your tasks

• You plan and coordinate support measures in the core areas of work, housing, budget, law and migration and implement them
• You provide psychosocial counselling in acute crises, in cooperation with the outpatient treatment team
• You support our patients especially in social insurance law matters
• In your professional daily routine, you work closely with authorities (e.g. adult and child protection authorities and social welfare offices) as well as legal and specialised services (e.g. counselling centres, outpatient services)
• You contribute your valuable experience in psychosocial counselling and actively participate in maintaining and optimising our high quality standards
• You accompany our patients individually and process-oriented
• You have the opportunity to network with social institutions, organisations and facilities (e.g. in protected living and working areas)
• You work in an interprofessional team consisting of doctors, psychologists, nursing professionals and secretariat

Your profile

• You have a university of applied sciences degree / bachelor in social work
• You have extensive social law knowledge as well as medical-psychiatric orientation
• You are characterised by counselling skills and experience
• Additional qualification in social insurance law and further training in systemic counselling are a great advantage
• You are open, resilient and reliable with a good sense of humour
• You have a pronounced organisational talent
• Ideally, you already have experience in psychiatry
• You have good oral knowledge of German and French
