For the Public Utilities department, we are looking for a clerk due to retirement as of 1 March 2027 or by arrangement.
Clerk for Public Utilities 80 - 100 %
Your Responsibilities
In this versatile role, you will manage the secretariat of the Public Utilities department and support the department head as well as the division and project managers in administrative and organisational matters. You are the first point of contact for telephone and personal customer concerns and ensure a smooth flow of information. Your duties include maintaining customer data and independently handling the billing for water, wastewater, and refuse collection. You prepare orders and invoices for connection fees, process creditors and debtors, and assist in preparing city council decisions, correspondence, and departmental communication. Additionally, you take on deputy duties for other secretariats within the city administration and ensure the interface with agriculture and family gardens.
What We Expect from You
You have a commercial basic education and ideally bring professional experience in a public administration or a public utility. Knowledge of administrative law and political processes as well as an understanding of building law and technical issues are advantageous. You communicate confidently in German and are proficient in the use of information and communication technologies. As a service-oriented person with good manners, you appreciate contact with different stakeholders. You work independently, reliably, and precisely, think ahead, and find pragmatic solutions even for complex matters. With your open, team-oriented, and proactive nature, you contribute to constructive collaboration.
