Job Description
Reporting to the Banquets Supervisor, the essential responsibilities and functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Consistently providing professional, friendly, and engaging service
- Participating in the setup, service, and clearing of rooms
- Checking orders before serving to clients and ensuring the service is as quick as possible
- Serving orders to clients discreetly
- Having thorough knowledge of event menus (food and drink) and being able to explain the main ingredients
- Ensuring clients lack nothing
- Being efficient and able to take initiative, assisting the supervisor and acting as a liaison between them and the on-call staff (extras)
- Being informed about events at the hotel and participating in briefings before events
- Following given instructions (setup, tidying, cleaning), performing assigned tasks to the best of one’s ability and ensuring on-call staff do the same
- Informing the supervisor of any equipment malfunctions
- Informing the supervisor of any client requests or complaints and responding directly if possible
- Participating in weekly meetings
- Actively assisting service in other departments or events taking place at the hotel, upon request from superiors
- Actively participating in inventories within the department
- Participating in the training of new interns and new on-call staff
- Participating in an annual performance review with the superior
- Being flexible and cooperative in all circumstances, especially when required to collaborate with another department on an occasional basis
- Committing to the quality of service, discretion, and complete honesty
- Maintaining a professional attitude, smiling, and remaining calm at all times
- Respecting ergonomic work standards in health & safety rules, hygiene, and sanitary regulations
- Respecting the policies, procedures, and service standards of the department and company
- Any other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- 6 months prior experience in service
- Fluency in French
- Good knowledge of English
- Service diploma is an asset
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Good presentation, neat and conscientious
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility in working hours

VISA REQUIREMENTS
To work in Switzerland, the candidate must hold a Swiss work permit or be from an EU-17 or EU-8 European country.
