Principal

With more than 2000 learners, the ABZH is one of the large vocational schools in the canton of Zurich. Located in close proximity to Zurich main station, over 100 teachers and a professional administrative team are committed to providing a high-quality education and training offer. The position of principal is currently filled on an interim basis until the end of this school year and is therefore publicly advertised for a permanent appointment as of 1 September 2027. We are therefore looking for a new principal.

You lead the school management and bear the overall pedagogical, personnel and financial responsibility. The school management includes the three departments "Culinary and Hospitality", "Applied Technology, Consulting and Documentation" as well as "Society, Language and Movement". Furthermore, the area "Central Services" is under your supervision. You are supported in your work by the department heads, the administrative management and individual staff units. Together with your team, you ensure the school operation and shape the future of the ABZH in consultation with the responsible authorities in the canton. You personally take on a small teaching load. You actively maintain contacts outside the school, especially with economic committees and professional associations.

• Completed studies (tertiary level A or B)
• Teaching qualification in the professional field of the ABZH
• Leadership experience in vocational education and training at a cantonal vocational school
• Experience in dealing with cantonal administration
• Knowledge of the vocational education landscape in Switzerland
• Good networking with professional associations and committees
