Admission to the training takes place after the conclusion of a training contract with a training company recognized by the Education and Culture Directorate of the Canton of Bern. Your practical training takes place, for example, in a home, hospital, hotel, or other catering establishments. At BFF, you will attend vocational school classes. The two-year basic training is complemented by attending inter-company courses (üK). As a practitioner in hospitality-housekeeping, your work is diverse and requires skilled hands: Depending on the workplace, you ensure cleanliness, wash laundry, serve drinks and food. Additionally, you perform simple administrative tasks. Topics of the lessons (action competence areas) are:
Work environment
- Appearance and communication Through your professional qualification, you are versatile: e.g., in homes, hospitals, hotels, or other catering establishments. You also have access to a three-year basic training, for example, to the specialist practitioner in hospitality-housekeeping with the federal vocational certificate EBA. With very good practical perspectives and school performance, you can shorten this basic training to two years. In addition to regular classes, BFF offers various support, language, and free courses. The training concludes with the Federal Vocational Certificate Housekeeping Practitioner EBA.
