Flying Teachers is currently looking for a qualified and committed teacher for German as a Foreign Language (DaF) to take on an individual German course at level A1 in Aarau.
The lessons take place on site and are aimed at an adult learner who wishes to specifically expand and consolidate their already acquired German skills.
Course details
Type of instruction: German as a Foreign Language – one-to-one lessons
Level: A1 – Beginner 1
Location: 5000 Aarau, Switzerland
Course start: 2 November 2026
Total duration: 15 hours
Teaching scope: 10 lessons of 90 minutes each
Frequency: 1 lesson per week
Mode of instruction: In-person teaching
Possible lesson times
Friday, between 09:00 and 11:00 – preferred
Monday, between 09:00 and 11:00 – alternative
The exact lesson time will be agreed upon with the teacher and the learner.
Information about the learner and the teaching objectives
By 2 November 2026, the learner will have completed approximately 45 hours of German lessons and is at level A1.
Their mother tongue is Turkish. They have only very limited English skills.
The aim of the lessons is to systematically deepen the already acquired German skills, further develop communicative abilities, and support the learner in building a solid linguistic foundation at level A1.
Particularly important are clear and comprehensible lesson design, an appropriate learning pace, as well as patient, motivating, and individually tailored delivery of the teaching content.
Experience in teaching learners with limited English skills as well as knowledge of Turkish are advantageous but not a requirement.

We teach a wide range of languages, offer tutoring for children in mainstream schools, as well as intensive courses for different age groups. In addition, we work with companies to provide targeted and needs-based language solutions.

You plan your lessons effectively, structured, and goal-oriented.
You design learner-centred lessons and consider individual learning needs.
You adapt your teaching methods to the language level and existing language skills of the learners.
You convey the teaching content clearly, understandably, and practically, even with limited English skills of the learners.
You conduct learning status and needs analyses if required.
You reliably document attendance and learning progress.
You maintain professional and reliable communication with our office.
You ideally live in Aarau or the surrounding area.
You have a valid permit to work in Switzerland.
Experience in online teaching and knowledge of digital teaching tools are advantageous.
Requirements
SVEB training or completed studies in German as a foreign or second language; fide certificate is an advantage
Experience in adult education
Experience teaching German as a foreign or second language, especially at beginner level A1
German as a mother tongue or German skills at level C2
Ability to make lessons understandable and varied even without extensive support in English
Strong communication skills and enjoyment in working with people
Patience, empathy, and a motivating teaching style
Flexibility and adaptability
Independent, structured, and reliable working style
Willingness to continue professional development
Availability for in-person teaching in Aarau, preferably Fridays between 09:00 and 11:00, alternatively Mondays between 09:00 and 11:00
