The Neuchâtel Centre of Psychiatry is recruiting for its Eating Disorders (ED) programme, a :
Chief Clinical Physician (ED)
The ED programme offers specialised intensive outpatient care for children, adolescents and adults (6 to 66 years) suffering from eating disorders, notably anorexia and bulimia. Care is provided according to best practice recommendations and aims for a holistic approach, centred on the specific needs of each patient.
The programme relies on a multidisciplinary team comprising psychiatrists, child psychiatrists, psychologist-psychotherapists, nurses, dietitians and somatic physicians.
As part of your role you will be expected to:
- develop and implement clinical guidelines and care programmes specific to the ED programme, ensuring quality and consistency of practices
- lead complex diagnostic and therapeutic decisions, integrating the somatic, psychiatric and psychological aspects of ED (anorexia, bulimia), from childhood to adulthood (6–66 years)
- participate in clinical discussions on therapeutic indications and care directions within the multidisciplinary team
- collaborate closely with all professionals in the ED programme (psychologists, nurses, dietitians, somatic physicians, paediatricians)
- ensure active coordination between the various internal and external stakeholders
- provide specialised expertise and support to the care teams
- contribute to the development and improvement of diagnostic and therapeutic methods specific to ED
- participate in team meetings, clinical supervisions and institutional activities of the service (training, working groups)
- engage in ethical and institutional reflection on highly complex situations
The skills required for this position are as follows:
- mastery of the somatic and psychiatric complications of ED as well as protocols for refeeding and specialised follow-up
- demonstrate clinical leadership and the ability to make decisions in complex and multidisciplinary contexts
- unite and lead an interdisciplinary team within a shared care dynamic, with a strong sense of planning
- collaborate in a network with partners in the Neuchâtel health system
- train, supervise and support team professionals in their clinical development
The ideal profile sought:
- FMH specialist title in psychiatry and adult psychotherapy or child psychiatrist title (or equivalent recognised by MEBEKO)
- experience in managing eating disorders (ED), ideally with paediatric and adult populations
- at least 3 years of activity in hospital or outpatient psychiatry
