The Regional Civil Registry Office Aarau is responsible for ten municipalities with around 76,000 inhabitants. Among other things, it is responsible for the certification of civil status and additionally manages the funeral office for the City of Aarau.

From February 1, 2026, or by agreement, we are looking for a
Civil Registrar (100%)
Your main tasks
- Customer advice on all matters of civil status and funeral services
- Certification of births, child acknowledgments, marriages, deaths, etc.
- Organizing and conducting weddings
- Organizing funerals and advising relatives
- Assisting with projects / responsibility for special tasks
Your profile
- You have a commercial or administrative education
(Federal or cantonal qualification at secondary level II)
- Ideally, you already have experience in civil registry services
- You have obtained the federal specialist certificate as a civil registrar or are willing to acquire it alongside your job
- You have good IT user skills (Infostar NG, MS Office). If possible, you have already worked as a power user or content creator.
- You are a stable, resilient personality and enjoy contact with people
- You can respond empathetically to customers
- You have a flair for legal matters
- You express yourself confidently in German and ideally have foreign language skills
- You are a team player and work reliably and service-oriented
- You hold a category B driving license
