Are you a metallurgist looking to apply your expertise to concrete, technical and international industrial projects?

SOLO SWISS SA, a Swiss company founded in 1924 and specialised in the design, manufacture and commissioning of industrial furnaces for the heat treatment of metals, is seeking a Metallurgist to strengthen its technical team in Porrentruy.

Our equipment is used in demanding sectors such as automotive, aerospace, watchmaking and medical, both in Switzerland and on international markets.

Your mission

Within a human-sized company, you will work at the heart of our metallurgical know-how and heat treatment expertise.

You will notably be required to:

• bring your expertise in metallurgy and materials;
• analyse the needs and issues of our clients regarding heat treatments;
• participate in the optimisation of heat treatment processes;
• conduct and monitor trials, tests and characterisations;
• contribute to the analysis of results and the search for technical solutions;
• provide technical support to our Engineering, Sales and After-Sales teams;
• take part in expert assessments and technical interventions, in Switzerland and abroad depending on projects;
• contribute to the development and transmission of SOLO SWISS SA’s metallurgical know-how;
• ensure technical monitoring of materials, processes and heat treatment technologies.

A role with a strong international dimension

This role involves frequent travel abroad, notably to our clients and partners, to carry out trials, assessments, commissioning, process validations or technical interventions.

You must therefore enjoy fieldwork, international contacts and varied industrial environments, and be comfortable with a professional activity involving regular travel.

Your profile:

We are primarily looking for a curious, pragmatic and technically passionate person, capable of understanding an industrial issue and seeking concrete solutions.

Ideally, you have:

• a higher education in metallurgy, materials science, materials engineering or a similar field;
• initial experience in metal heat treatment, metallurgy or a comparable industrial environment;
• good knowledge of metallic materials and their behaviours;
• an analytical mind and a strong taste for problem-solving;
• a good ability to work independently while collaborating with different departments;
• good communication skills and a developed practical sense.

Significant field experience can also be decisive. We are open to atypical profiles with solid practical experience and real know-how, even if their background does not perfectly match the traditional academic profile.
