We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate - in vitro/ex vivo Hematology to join our Non-Malignant Hematology group. In this role, you will contribute to the development of innovative therapies for bleeding disorders such as hemophilia and Von Willebrand Disease by conducting in vitro and ex vivo experiments to evaluate therapeutic efficacy, safety, and mechanism of action.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and apply advanced in vitro models (e.g., microphysiological systems, organoids, organ-on-a-chip) to investigate new therapeutic targets for bleeding disorders
- Utilize state-of-the-art imaging techniques such as confocal microscopy for the analysis of patient-derived plasma and blood in test systems
- Design, execute, and analyze in vitro and ex vivo experiments to assess the performance and mechanism of novel drug candidates
- Present findings clearly and effectively during regular team meetings and contribute to scientific discussions
- Continuously optimize assay systems, protocols, and data evaluation methods, including automation and digital data management
- Collaborate closely with team members, share responsibilities, maintain lab cleanliness, and foster a positive and cooperative working environment
Your Profile:
- BSc/MSc in Life Sciences (e.g., Cell/Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, Immunology), or a completed apprenticeship as a research associate with at least three years of relevant academic or industry experience
- Proven experience in confocal microscopy, live cell imaging, and working with microfluidic systems
- Hands-on experience with in vitro analytical techniques such as ELISA and biochemical assays for data generation and interpretation
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal) and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
- Excellent organizational, documentation, and data management abilities
