The Nyon clinic of the Department of Psychiatry is seeking a medical secretary at 50% for a start date of 1 October 2026, under a permanent contract.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital Centre (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in medical care, research, and education.
The Nyon clinic cares for adults as well as people over 65 years old, with a specialised and outpatient approach.
For adults, the clinic offers thorough investigations, specialised diagnoses, as well as treatments and care for mental and behavioural disorders. The therapeutic approach is centred on the patient, their relatives, and continuity of care. An initial assessment is carried out by the Emergency-Crisis Unit before referral to the outpatient clinic.
For people over 65, the clinic offers specialised consultations, mental and psychological assessments, support consultations for relatives, as well as multidisciplinary evaluations.

- You ensure telephone and face-to-face reception of patients, their relatives, and visitors to the clinic
- You manage telephone calls, user orientation, and administrative coordination of requests
- You handle the administrative management of outpatients, including admission, data updating, and verification of service entries
- You guarantee the meticulous maintenance of medical records, including typing and proofreading medical documents (reports, correspondence, discharge letters)
- You follow up on medical information requests and archive files
- You contribute to the smooth running of outpatient units by managing mail and maintaining dashboards.
Profile
- You hold a Federal VET Diploma as a commercial employee or an equivalent qualification, ideally complemented by a medical secretary diploma
- You have at least 3 years of experience in a medical secretariat, working independently
- You have excellent command of French, both spoken and written; knowledge of a foreign language is an asset
- You possess excellent skills in common IT tools; knowledge of institutional applications is an advantage
- You demonstrate a strong service orientation, empathy, and ease in a multidisciplinary environment
- You know how to adapt your communication to sensitive situations and manage priorities rigorously
- You have a good knowledge of the Vaud socio-health network and the functioning of state and semi-public structures related to psychiatry.
