Nurse in the Paediatric Medical-Surgical Hospitalisation Unit

To complete its team, the women-mother-child department is looking for a qualified nurse with a workload between 60% and 100% for the paediatric medical-surgical hospitalisation unit.

Context

The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, the CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research and training.

The Women-Mother-Child Department (DFME) brings together the Gynaecology, Obstetrics, Neonatology, Paediatrics and Child and Adolescent Surgery Services. More than 1,500 professionals work within this department. We care for women throughout their lives in gynaecological, obstetrical and psychosocial aspects, as well as children from birth to adolescence.

The medical-surgical hospitalisation unit includes 16 to 20 beds and welcomes patients aged from a few weeks to 18 years, presenting pathologies related to paediatric surgery or medicine.

The care team is composed of nurses, community health and care assistants and a care aide who work interdisciplinarily with doctors, physiotherapists, educators and occupational therapists.

Mission

• You provide, in collaboration with the care team and doctors, comprehensive patient care (technical and relational care, advice and therapeutic education) for all medical-surgical pathologies of infants, children and adolescents, in a multidisciplinary approach centred on the patient and their family
• You ensure the proper execution of delegated medical acts and take responsibility for them
• You actively participate in welcoming patients and their relatives as well as in organising work, ensuring the smooth running and continuity of the unit's activities.

Profile

• You hold a nursing diploma (for foreign diplomas, you have recognition by the Swiss Red Cross)
• You have several years of experience in paediatric care
• You have good autonomy, initiative and a well-developed sense of organisation
• You are interested in working in an interdisciplinary team.
