Job Description
The Faculty of Arts at the University of Geneva is advertising a position for a full or associate professor in Italian literature of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
This is a full-time position including teaching at bachelor, master and postgraduate levels as well as supervision of master’s theses and doctoral dissertations.
The holder will be expected to develop research at national and international levels in their area of specialisation and to secure external funding.
They will also be required to undertake management and organisational duties within the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures, as well as within the Faculty and the University.
Desired Profile: Recognised specialist in early Italian literature, from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance, with a particular interest in major medieval classical authors.
An interdisciplinary openness as well as the ability to broaden reflection to cultural studies and digital humanities will be especially appreciated.
Required Title and Competences
- Doctorate in Letters or qualifications deemed equivalent.
- Experience teaching Italian literature of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance at various university levels.
- Experience in designing and leading research.
- Publication record including monographs published by recognised publishing houses.
