Director of Works
Technical Office / 80 - 100 % / Thusis
The Technical Office is responsible for the planning, construction, maintenance, and operation of the cantonal roads, as well as for the implementation of hydraulic works and non-motorized traffic in Graubünden. Additionally, we take care of the operational maintenance of national roads within the cantonal territory. The road infrastructure of the canton includes over 1450 structures, including bridges up to 90 meters high and tunnels up to 3 kilometers long. The challenges that the nature of our mountainous canton presents in summer and winter make our work demanding and varied. As a certified office with the Friendly Work Space label, we particularly care about the health and satisfaction of our approximately 480 employees. For this reason, we are committed to a systematic health management in the company (GSA).
For the road maintenance department in district 7 Thusis, we are looking for from October 1, 2025 or by agreement a director of works.
Responsibilities
- Direction and control of the construction sites assigned to you as a representative of the client
- Determination of deadlines and coordination of work
- Ensuring quality, measurement activities, and execution of all work specified in the contract
- Preparation of estimates, tender documents, and calculations
- Monitoring of the budget
- Execution of technical tasks for road maintenance
- On-call service as the head of intervention
What we expect from you
- Completed vocational training in construction
- Additional training as a site manager, foreman, or director of works or equivalent professional development
- Several years of professional experience in road construction and civil engineering
- Practical experience in performance description
- You are a person who can assert themselves, with organizational skills and abilities in negotiations as well as teamwork
- Knowledge of the Italian language is an advantage
