Emmental Hospital ensures high-quality medical care for 150,000 residents at its two hospital locations in Burgdorf and Langnau – around the clock.
As an operations electrician, you take on a central role in operational and supply security. You ensure that electrical systems, energy supply, and communication systems function reliably. In case of malfunctions, you analyse the cause, initiate the appropriate measures, and coordinate external specialist companies if necessary.

Operations Electrician (a) 100%
Your task: Technology the hospital operations can rely on
- You ensure the safe operation and maintenance of our electrical and energy supply systems as well as machine and system controls and carry out repairs professionally
- You plan and implement new installations and accompany technical adjustments during ongoing hospital operations
- You maintain and service our communication systems and ensure their availability
- You provide first- and second-level support for medical technology devices and assist in the technical localisation and resolution of faults
- You systematically perform quality controls, inspections, repairs, and maintenance and document the work carried out
- In case of malfunctions, you assess the situation, initiate appropriate measures, and coordinate the work of external specialist companies
- During on-call duty, you take responsibility for the hospital’s technical readiness outside regular working hours
- You independently and reliably maintain device and system data in the FM system Campos
- You contribute where pragmatic solutions and interdisciplinary support are required in technical operations
What you bring
- You have completed vocational training as an electrical installer EFZ or assembly electrician EFZ
- You are interested in telematics and communication systems and are confident working in a technically networked environment
- Knowledge of KNX, PLC, and DESIGO is an advantage
- You have an interest in medical technology and are willing to familiarise yourself with the special requirements of hospital operations
- You have at least three years of professional experience in low-voltage installations under the supervision of a qualified person according to NIV and thus meet the requirements for obtaining the operations electrician permit
- You think service-oriented, act reliably, and keep an overview even in case of malfunctions
- You work independently, in a structured and responsible manner, and can reliably assess technical priorities
- You have very good PC user skills, especially in Windows and MS Office
- You hold a category B driving licence
