The University Clinic for Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy stands for high-quality care, research, and further education.
Our ward for Neuropsychiatry and Interventional Psychiatry at the Murtenstrasse 21 location specialises in the treatment of affective disorders and catatonic syndromes and represents an important interface to the Neuropsychiatry and Neurology departments of the Inselspital. In the field of interventional psychiatry, we offer treatments using stimulation methods, including rTMS, ketamine, ECT, and DBS.
As a Senior Consultant, you will help shape innovative treatment concepts, be part of an interdisciplinary team, and drive the further development of modern therapeutic approaches. We offer you a dynamic university environment with excellent research and training opportunities as well as the chance to actively participate at the interface between clinic and science. As a recognised training centre, the University Clinic for Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy offers the opportunity to obtain the certificate of competence for interventional psychiatry (SGIP).
Your Responsibilities
- You will work inpatient on a ward specialising in neuropsychiatry and be responsible for diagnostics, therapy planning, and the implementation of psychiatric treatments in close interdisciplinary collaboration with our team
- Supervision and further training of assistant doctors
- Participation in the further development of clinical concepts in close cooperation with a committed, multiprofessional team is another part of this interesting role
- You will take part in the senior consultant on-call service of the Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy
- You will actively engage in the education and training for the specialty of psychiatry at the University of Bern and for candidates for the specialist qualification in psychiatry and psychotherapy
- You will support ongoing research projects and, if interested, can develop your own projects within the framework of the clinic’s research concept
Your Profile
- You hold a specialist title in psychiatry and psychotherapy with MEBEKO recognition (mandatory for foreign diplomas).
- You are motivated and interested in deepening your training in the field of interventional psychiatry
- Leadership experience and organisational skills as well as an interest in taking on leadership and training responsibilities complete your profile
- Teamwork and communication skills are among your strengths
- Commitment to the continuous development of the department
- Willingness to collaborate interdisciplinarily
- You have very good oral and written German skills
