Tasks
Securing museum operations: You support the Security Department in looking after our visitors and are responsible for the protection of cultural assets.
Supervision: You ensure that our visitors as well as the staff feel comfortable and safe. Through your friendly and competent manner, you create a calm and trusting atmosphere.
Undertaking special tasks: Your additional duties include various service tasks for our museum as well as occasional closing duties.
Profile
Experience: You preferably have experience in security services as well as the willingness and enjoyment of irregular working hours on all days of the week (Mon-Sun) including Sundays and public holidays within annual working hours.
Personality: Good manners, independence and reliability characterise you. You can adapt well to different stakeholder groups and act calmly and thoughtfully. In addition, you have an impeccable reputation.
Training: You preferably have vocational training and have already gained initial experience in the security field and hold a first aid certificate.
Language: You can communicate orally and in writing in German and orally in at least one foreign language.
Insight into our work
The Antikenmuseum is one of five museums in the city of Basel assigned to the Presidential Department. In modern permanent and special exhibitions, it presents an extensive and outstanding collection of Egyptian, Greek, Italic, Etruscan and Roman artworks. The Antikenmuseum is the only museum in Switzerland entirely dedicated to the ancient culture and art of the Mediterranean region. It thus makes an important contribution to Basel’s cultural panorama and makes tangible the influence antiquity still has on the Western world today.
