About the job
Physicians
Chief Resident in Radiation Oncology
We are looking for a chief resident for our Radiation Oncology Service in the Oncology Department with a workload between 80% - 100%.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
Our Clinical Oncology Department brings together cancer clinic and research with an innovative spirit. It includes the medical oncology, immuno-oncology, radiation oncology, and haematology services. It also incorporates the Lausanne branch of the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research (LICR) for cancer research, particularly in the field of immunotherapy.
Led by Prof. Fernanda Herrera, the Radiation Oncology Service has around forty staff members. Radiotherapy research at CHUV aims to integrate the latest technological and biological advances to offer more personalised, less invasive, and more effective treatments to cancer patients. The focus is on innovation, reducing side effects, and improving patients’ quality of life.
This research relies on an experimental radiotherapy platform that allows all types of irradiation, linked with imaging, and on experimental models of tumours and healthy tissues, to develop the transfer from laboratory to clinic.
