What to expect

• Tasks as a class and subject teacher as well as course leader within the Civil Protection Organisation
• Collaboration in the command of the ZSO / battalion staff within the framework of leadership and staff work in training, planning, and deployment
• Co-responsibility in planning and conducting refresher courses together with the militia cadres
• Leadership of subordinate protection service personnel during deployment
• Responsibility for personnel planning of assigned functions and formations
• Preparation of concepts, orders, training materials, and other deployment- and training-relevant foundations
• Material responsibility in the assigned specialist area and advising the department management on material procurement
• Support for logistics staff in maintenance and ensuring the operational readiness of materials
• Participation in budget planning within own area of responsibility
• Maintenance and further development of the network with institutions, partner organisations, and other civil protection bodies
• Taking on additional tasks on behalf of the department management

What you bring with you

• Completed vocational training of at least three years
• Completed training as a civil protection instructor with a federal specialist certificate or demonstrable instruction, leadership, and training experience in the army, fire brigade, civil protection, or a comparable organisation
• Strong interest in civil protection, understanding of its partner organisations and Switzerland’s security architecture, as well as motivation to commit to the safety and protection of the population
• Enjoyment in training adults and the ability to convey complex content clearly and practically
• Very good oral and written German skills
• Very good ICT user skills
• Confident, credible, and exemplary appearance
• Assertiveness, initiative, organisational talent, flexibility, resilience, and teamwork skills
• Willingness to serve in the civil protection organisation if no military service obligation exists
• Impeccable reputation
