Legal Assistant 50 - 80%The Zurich Public Prosecutor's Office prosecutes crimes committed by adults throughout the canton of Zurich and employs around 500 staff. The Legal Service is attached to the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and supports it in legal and coordinative matters. It forms a central interface between the Public Prosecutor's Office, courts, administration, and other partner institutions. Its tasks include, in particular, clarifying jurisdictional questions, processing requests for file inspection under the IDG, and drafting opinions.
Starting immediately or by arrangement, limited to 6 months, we are looking for a Legal Assistant (50-80%) for the Legal Service of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
Your tasks include:
- You handle demanding legal issues from the areas of criminal and criminal procedural law as well as other legal fields relevant to the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. In particular, you independently and responsibly process requests for file inspection under the IDG.
- You prepare legal opinions, statements, orders, and recommendations and prepare legal decision-making bases for the responsible authorities.
- You advise the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office as well as internal departments on legal issues and support them in legal assessments.
- You keep up to date with current legislation and case law and incorporate this into your work.
- You support the further development and standardisation of legal procedures, templates, and internal standards, thereby contributing to high-quality and coherent legal work.
Your profile:
- You have a university degree in law and ideally have some professional experience in public administration, justice, or law enforcement.
- You work independently, efficiently, and solution-oriented, possess strong analytical and argumentative skills, and are characterised by high reliability.
- You have a precise linguistic expression, present yourself professionally, and communicate appropriately for the target audience.
- You are resilient, responsible, and possess high integrity and discretion.
- Good to very good knowledge of French and English (C1 level); knowledge of Italian is an advantage.
