Tasks:

• collaborates based on directives issued by the CARL Director to develop a social-educational-rehabilitative development plan for residents for whom they act as a reference figure
• implements the necessary interventions and strategies in collaboration with the team to adequately manage behavioural disorders of the centre's residents, while promoting their autonomy and psycho-physical well-being
• participates in all rehabilitative, social and professional integration activities essential to operationalise the objectives set by the educational work for each individual
• involves family members or their representatives, as well as internal and external operators involved in care, in the rehabilitative and socio-educational development plan of the residents
• executes and ensures medical prescriptions and therapeutic interventions authorised by their specific training or particular instruction received
• collaborates with social-health schools in training students within their specific competences respecting internship objectives
• organises their activity within the four presence shifts, including nights, to ensure continuity of educational care

Requirements:

• nurse diploma with specialisation (mental health) or bachelor in nursing or nurse diploma in general care with recognition issued by the Swiss Red Cross (SRC) with registration in the national health professions register GesReg/NAREG
• experience in the psychiatric field, teamwork skills, critical thinking, creativity, proactive attitude, flexibility, empathy and relational skills
• knowledge and experience in the national health system
• perfect knowledge (speaking and writing) of Italian and knowledge (speaking and writing) of another official language and/or English
• availability to work irregular hours
• ability to engage and relate even in crisis situations, availability to work irregular hours
• knowledge of the territory, institutions and social-health network of the Canton Ticino

Special remarks:

• the specialist nurse role may be assigned to candidates holding a nurse diploma with specialisation (mental health)
• the nurse role may be assigned to candidates holding a Bachelor in nursing or nurse diploma in general care with recognition issued by the Swiss Red Cross (SRC)
• employment: one part-time position (80%) and one full-time (100%). Candidates are invited to indicate the desired percentage in their application
• workplace: Mendrisio
• availability of the candidate to work irregular shifts including night shifts, weekends and holidays respecting the 24-hour service organisation
• start date: to be defined
• for holders of a Bachelor in nursing or a nurse diploma in general care: obligation to specialise in mental health at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) within 4 years of employment according to regulations and directives in force at the time of enrolment (DAS course fee covered by the Cantonal Sociopsychiatric Organisation (OSC) while the exam fee is borne by the employee). During this period, employment will be in the form of a contract (art. 15 and 16 LORD) convertible into appointment upon obtaining the qualification; failure to obtain it will result in definitive termination of employment

Employment conditions:
