Officer in charge of unemployment benefits
Office for Industry, Crafts and Labor (UCIAML) | 80-100% | Chur
The Office for Industry, Crafts and Labor (UCIAML) currently employs about 135 collaborators in six regions of the Canton of Graubünden. In addition to managing the Regional Employment Office (URC), we organize active labor market measures for job seekers and manage the cantonal unemployment fund. We also carry out various tasks in the labor market and occupational safety sectors.
For the unemployment fund section of Graubünden, we are looking for an officer in charge of unemployment benefits (80-100%) starting April 1, 2026, or by agreement.
Tasks
- Examination and processing of unemployment benefit applications, including thorough examination of entitlement and calculation of benefits
- Correct and timely payment of insurance benefits
- Competent and service-oriented advice by phone, in writing, and if necessary in person to insured persons regarding their rights, payment deadlines, and other relevant issues
- Coordination and exchange with other social insurers as well as with other sections of the office (especially URC)
What we expect from you
- Completed commercial training or equivalent qualification, ideally with experience in social insurance (the federal professional certificate for social insurance specialists is an advantage)
- Familiarity with numbers as well as precise and structured working methods
- Excellent IT skills, especially in the use of MS Office
- Friendliness and professionalism as well as the ability to explain complex issues simply and understandably
- Responsible personality, able to handle stressful situations and work independently
- Flexibility and reliability as well as the ability to work in a team
- Good oral and written knowledge of German, knowledge of Italian is an advantage
