The Position

The department "Pharmaceutical Development and Supplies" is responsible for the technical development and preparation of sterile dosage forms of biotechnologically and chemically engineered molecules, focusing on pre-filled syringes and vials for preclinical and clinical studies, and the market supplies.

Your Opportunity

We are now looking for outstanding, highly motivated, and reliable students to join our international team in an outstanding and competitive environment. As a student intern, your responsibilities will include:

  • Actively participate (6 months) in one of the pharmaceutical development groups focusing on eco-balance calculation in formulation and process development. The projects relate to performing state of the art eco-balancing methods (LCA, PMI and others) for pharmaceutical processes. This requires a good understanding of Material science, Process development of drug product, Drug delivery systems (e.g. depot formulations, inhalation)

  • Opportunity to engage in departmental activities related to innovative formulations, processes, and technologies

  • Work independently

  • Gain insights into the multifaceted and diverse working environment of pharmaceutical development

  • Present results in internal meetings, and learn how current industrial requirements are implemented in everyday life

Who You Are

You are an enrolled student in environmental science, pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biotechnology, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, biology or a related field, or you passed the 2nd state examination of your pharmacy studies and are interested in using and growing knowledge in a modern working environment. In addition, you received theoretical and practical training in life cycle assessments and have experience in conducting LCA case studies using a recognized tool (e.g. Simapro, Gabi, OpenLCA, etc.) or using a spreadsheet-based calculation with emission factors from a recognized database (e.g. Ecoinvent). You have basic knowledge about Product Environmental Footprint and Product Carbon Footprint standards and guidelines.

If you bring the following as well, we are looking forward to receiving your application:

  • Interest in problem solving and optimization strategies and ability to learn quickly and adjust to a modern working environment

  • You can work in a team and also independently

  • You are flexible, well organized, and you have strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Proficiency in English and German

  • Advanced skills in working with Microsoft Office and other data analysis software
