Korero mo te turanga – About the role

The Executive Assistant, collaborating with the other Executive Assistant, is responsible for providing support to the policy work of the Mission through administrative support to the Head of Mission (UN and Disarmament Ambassador) and WTO Ambassador, and helps to lead and deliver the Mission’s visits and events.

The appointment range is CHF 78,271 to CHF 92,083 – negotiable depending on experience.

Ma ? wai te mahi nei? – Who are we looking for?

We would like to hear from you if you have a previous successful experience in an Executive Assistant capacity to a senior manager and/or leadership team and:

– Have well-developed planning and organisational skills, including ability to prioritise tasks effectively and work under pressure

– Have excellent command of both English and French, oral and written

– Have the ability to work autonomously and within guidelines, demonstrating the use of sound judgement and follow up without prompting

– Have a strong customer focus, with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of people, have a proven ability to operate in a fast-paced and busy environment, adapt to ambiguity and changing situations, balance priorities and work to tight deadlines.

You would ideally be available to commence duties in Geneva in August or September 2024.

The successful candidate will be responsible for their own relocation to Geneva but the Permanent Mission will assist with obtaining a legitimation card, an authorization to work for a diplomatic mission in Switzerland.

Please note: If the successful candidate has worked or lived in New Zealand and are subsequently employed as locally engaged staff in a NZ Government Permanent Mission, they may, subject to individual circumstances, have NZ Tax Residency obligations. We advise any applicant, who may be in this situation, to discuss their tax residency status with the NZ Inland Revenue (IRD) and determine any potential personal tax obligations to IRD.
