The Senior Associate Leadership Support & Planning Senior will play a key role in ensuring the smooth functioning of executive-level meetings and fostering collaboration among leadership teams at the Global Fund. Supporting the Manager, Leadership & Organizational Planning, they will prepare weekly Management Executive Committee (MEC) meetings including developing agendas, identifying key discussion topics, tracking action items, and summarizing meeting outcomes.

They will support the Manager, Leadership & Organizational Planning in enhancing engagement and collaboration with Extended Leadership Team (ELT) members across the organization. This includes planning and organizing leadership retreats, ELT working sessions, and other events aimed at strengthening leadership effectiveness. Additionally, the Senior Associate will assist the Manager, Leadership & Organizational Planning in the development and implementation of strategies supporting overall effectiveness and smooth operation of MEC.

They will support the organization's annual planning process, undertaking a simplified approach, including developing prioritization approaches, implementation plans and assisting in prioritizing change initiatives for the OPEX budget, including translating strategic objectives into actionable plans to drive organizational priorities.

In addition to the Senior Associate’s core responsibilities, this individual will provide ad-hoc support to emerging priorities and requests within the remit of the Leadership Support and Planning team and will help make rapid progress on these.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership effectiveness

  • Supports the Leadership & Organizational Planning Manager in driving leadership effectiveness of the MEC and ELT and delivering on Executive Director support tasks as required.
  • Supports preparation of weekly MEC meetings, including developing agendas, identifying key discussion topics, preparation of meeting inputs, tracking action items, and preparing meeting summaries for broader communications.
  • Supports ELT engagement and collaboration including planning and organizing leadership retreats, ELT working sessions and other ELT engagement activities.

Implementation planning and monitoring

  • Supports the Lead, Planning and Associate, Monitoring in delivering the Global Fund's annual planning and progress monitoring processes, as required.

Ad-hoc responsibilities

  • Supports other tasks and requests that may arise in the process of supporting Global Fund leadership.
  • Embraces the "other duties as assigned" aspect of the role, with the ability to quickly adapt to emerging priorities, maintain flexibility, and engage with a balanced, delivery-mindset.

Subject to change by the Executive Director at any time at their sole discretion.

Qualifications

Essential:

Undergraduate university degree in business administration, public policy/administration, international development, global health or other relevant area

Experience

Essential:

  • Demonstrated experience managing and delivering on timelines with tight deadlines, across disciplines, and in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Evidence of effective and successful stakeholder management at operational and management levels within an organization.
  • Experience serving in an advisory capacity with Executive leaders.
  • Significant experience preparing high-quality, professional documents for senior audiences.
  • Experience within multi-cultural and international environments and organizations.

Desirable:

  • A minimum of 2-4 years’ relevant experience in transformations, organizational effectiveness, strategy and/or performance improvement, inclusive of strategy consulting experience.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of project management principles and application in multi-cultural settings including International Public/Private Organizations.
  • In-country experience of development and/or public health programs, preferably in LMICs/ countries with programs supported by The Global Fund.

Competencies

Languages:

An excellent knowledge of English and preferably a good working knowledge of French. Knowledge of other languages would be an asset.
