Project Lead, Digital Trade

The World Economic Forum, committed to improving the state of the world, is the international organization for public-private cooperation. The Forum engages the foremost political, business and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas.

Why are we recruiting?

The Forum’s Trade and Investment community team, within the Centre for Regions, Trade & Geopolitics (CTRG) brings together leading global companies with policymakers from around the world. It fosters structured dialogue on challenges and opportunities for resilient, sustainable, and inclusive trade and works through global, regional, and national initiatives to drive impactful reform in three pillars:

  • Ensuring open and resilient markets
  • Easing flows of physical and digital trade, investment, finance, payments, and knowledge
  • Supporting equitable and sustainable value chains

Our Digital Trade and Geopolitics work covers two separate but related workstreams.

The first relates to our Digital Trade work, which includes cross-border digital payments. Under this workstream we seek to enable international trade and investment in the global digital economy by fostering innovative collaboration and tackling overly restrictive limitations to cross-border digital commerce.

The second workstream covered by this role is Trade and Geopolitics, which seeks to engage and inform both governments and business on appropriate responses to the rise in geopolitical tensions and resulting system fragmentation. This workstream is focused on reinvigorating the international rules-based system as the basis for continued future economic growth, equitable and sustainable development and effective climate action.

The Digital Trade & Geopolitics Lead will serve as part of a team, lead by the Head Digital Trade and Geopolitics, to serve a number of different communities under these workstreams to both drive change and achieve impact.

  • 7-9 years of professional work experience working with both the public and private sectors on trade and digital economy issues
