PhD position Real Estate Management & Finance 100 %

School: School of Management and Law

Starting date: 1st of August, or by mutual agreement / Doctoral students are employed for a fixed term of 1 year, with the option to extend for up to 4 years

  • Enroll in the Finance Doctoral Program at the University of Zurich.
  • Contribute to the project "Unintended Consequences of the New Regulatory Paradigm: Real Estate Prices and Financing the Economy" in collaboration with the University of Zurich.
  • Design and execute data collection using web-crawling and PDF extraction from regulatory disclosure reports.
  • Conduct data analysis using econometric models and quasi-natural experiments.
  • Perform comprehensive literature reviews and engage in ongoing research activities.
  • Participate in scientific dissemination, including writing for publications and presenting at conferences and workshops.
  • Assist with project management (e.g. projectadministration or support in the preparation of interim, final and financial reports for the project).
  • Holder of a Master's Degree in Finance, Business and Economics, Real Estate, Econometrics, or a related discipline with very good to excellent grades.
  • Experience or a strong willingness to learn quantitative data analysis using software tools such as R, Python, or Stata.
  • Self-motivated for independent research with a keen interest in the project's thematic areas (real estate, banking regulation and financing).
  • Demonstrated abilities in teamwork, reliability, and effective communication.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English (German beneficial).
