For their Global Procurement Organization, we are looking for:

Contract Research Organization (CRO) Category Buyer

The role is based in the Vevey region, in Switzerland and is reporting to the Global Head of Procurement CRO.

Your mission:

  • In this challenging and dynamic role, the ?'CRO Category Buyer'' will be responsible for implementing the global strategy of the Research, Regulatory and Scientific Consulting categories.
  • The role will support the Research and Development teams within the Prescription and Consumer Business Units, by having a good understanding of the needs and the market and proposing fit to purpose sourcing strategy. The ?'CRO Category Buyer'' will work in alignment with the direction set by the Head of Procurement and in accordance to the Galderma procurement model, contributing to the strategic development of his/her own scope and will act as a sourcing specialist.

Your main tasks:

  • Define the categories sourcing strategy and implement it for his/her scope
  • Assess the internal customers activities and constraints that could be impacted by suppliers performance
  • Perform supplier market and supply risk analysis, the map of sourcing process within their scope, and identify improvements to be targeted
  • Lead the negotiations with key suppliers and leveraging global volume
  • Manage the supplier performance and organize business reviews with key suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Be fully engaged so that his/her organization reaches the highest compliance and ethic level while continuously developing, with its supplier's base, a responsible sourcing approach
  • Coordinate and support the negotiation of the main contracts with the suppliers
  • Productivity improvement
  • Have a detailed knowledge of the spend and cost drivers for the covered category
  • Lead the sourcing process from RFP to contract signature with the suppliers - Achieve substantial savings and track and communicate on productivity
  • Build and propose a budget/productivity target for his/her scope that supports Galderma's financial objectives and provide an accurate forecast
  • Provide a multiyear visibility on cost Improvement programs and initiatives, based on risk assessment and market analysis
  • Recommend the best suitable processes and tools to maximize the efficiency, savings and customer service level
  • Promote networking and lead 'cross fertilization' programs between the buyers of every site and with other purchasing entities whenever it can result to efficiency and economy of scale

University degree, (Bachelor or Master) in Business or Engineering; Double degree scientific and commercial is preferable

Experience in a pharmaceutical and/or cosmetic Research & Development environment is preferable

3 to 5 years' experience as a Buyer in a similar position, within an international company where Purchasing function is recognized as mature
