The Swiss Finance Institute (SFI) is a not-for-profit foundation created in 2006. SFI’s purpose is to promote world-class research and education in Switzerland in the field of banking and finance. Based in Geneva, Lausanne, Lugano, St. Gallen, and Zurich, SFI comprises over 80 Professors and a small foundation staff.

A central activity of the institute is the support of the faculty’s academic success and the SFI PhD Program. To replace a key member of the Research and PhD Program Operations team in Geneva for maternity cover, we are seeking a dedicated and highly motivated :

You will provide administrative support for the SFI research activity area, SFI research faculty as well as for the SFI PhD Program.The program manager reports to and works, primarily, in collaboration with, the Research Program Director. This position is in the Geneva office and is a temporary, maternity cover, position for 7-8 months.


  • Supporting the Research Program Director in the management of operational tasks;
  • Managing the operational administration of the SFI PhD Program;
  • Supporting the SFI faculty of 80 professors at 7 universities throughout Switzerland;
  • Supporting and managing SFI academic events, advanced courses and the SFI Research Paper Series;
  • Managing the SFI website content for faculty and the PhD program as well as the internal social media platforms for SFI faculty, PhD students and PhD alumni.

Who you are:

  • Ability to work independently, but as part of a team, is a self-starter;
  • Ability to control multiple parallel tasks, creating order and enforcing punctuality;
  • Careful about detail, calm under pressure, hardworking, cheerful;
  • Solid understanding of Swiss academia is a plus;
  • Good communication skills and experience in communications is a plus;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, preferably EMT, with very good command of French or German;
  • IT skills in the usual office software programs as well as for the internet and social media platforms.

Start date: May 1, 2023
