RRP Sourcing Sustainability Manager
The RRP Sourcing Sustainability Manager will play a critical role in driving our company's commitment to sustainability by identifying and implementing solutions to ensure responsible sourcing and manufacturing of our electronic devices, fostering trustful relationships with our suppliers, and ensuring progress on our sustainability goals.
This includes applying existing knowledge and keeping abreast of emerging sustainability regulatory requirements and responsible sourcing good practice, with a good oversight of electronic products or consumer goods.
You will work closely with our electronics sourcing teams and suppliers to advance our responsible sourcing program and ensure progress on sustainability targets pertaining to our value chain.
Position:
- Work closely with RRP Sourcing teams to support the development and implementation of the Sustainability strategy for RRP supply chain. The support entails identification and improvement of KPIs, and delivery of programs and projects in alignment with corporate targets.
- Drive the implementation of the environmental stream of work in RRP Sourcing in close collaboration and alignment with suppliers, internal and external stakeholders, and industry initiatives.
- Ensure proper education and awareness for internal/external stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of the sustainability strategy and build strong relationships to ensure their timely support for JTG RRP sustainability activities.
- Serve as an internal subject-matter expert on sustainability matters and support the RRP Sourcing Sustainability Director with the implementation of the strategy in the JTI business. Establish and maintain a transparent and collaborative approach and create a spirit of innovation and continuous improvement, both internally and externally.
- Collaborate with internal functions for external disclosure (e.g., Integrated report, CDP, relevant benchmarks and ratings) for environmental topics relevant to responsible sourcing of electronic devices and related procurement categories
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in the field of Environmental, International Development, Science, Sustainability, Supply Chain, or other relevant degree.
- Minimum of 5 years' working experience on the Environmental side of sustainability, LCA (Life cycle assessment), GHG emissions' estimates and management, responsible sourcing, environmental due diligence of electronics goods or consumer goods manufacturing
Prior experience with supply chain actors and industry initiatives is an advantage
- Demonstrable knowledge of existing and evolving ESG concepts and demonstrable experience in implementing sustainability-related projects of electronics products and relevant raw materials, including industry certifications, standards, and regulations
- Demonstrable supplier relationship management experience and ability to initiate and drive change
- A self-starter with a can-do attitude, combined with strong presentations and project management skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities with stakeholder engagement and management skills
- Ability to understand external regulatory and stakeholder requirements and translate them into actionable plans inside the organization
- PC literacy (MS Office and SharePoint), and SimaPro or similar software skills
- English language for effective verbal and written communication, knowledge of Japanese or Chinese is a strategic advantage
