To complete our team, we are looking for a:
Year 6 Primary Teacher (Maternity Cover)
Full-time - 29 Periods
Expected timeframe: 1 January 2026 - 31 August 2026
(Extension possible but unlikely)
The Role
As a Year 6 PYP teacher at La Châtaigneraie Primary, you will be responsible for creating a stimulating, nurturing, and inquiry-based learning environment. You will design and deliver engaging learning experiences aligned with the IB PYP framework, fostering the holistic development of each student.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging units of inquiry in collaboration with the Year 6 team.
- Foster a safe, positive, and well-managed classroom that supports students' social and emotional growth.
- Utilise ongoing, varied assessment methods to track student progress and differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Actively contribute to our culture of continuous professional learning and reflective practice.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a candidate who embodies our school's values and demonstrates the following:
Experience & Qualifications:
- Teaching certification authorizing you to work in the Canton de Vaud
- Proven experience teaching within an IB PYP framework in a multilingual, international school environment.
Skills & Attributes:
- A deep passion for child-centered learning and a strong understanding of child development.
- An adaptable, collaborative, and team-oriented mindset, open to feedback and new ideas.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues
- Collaborative mindset and open to feedback
- Digital literacy, with proficiency in Google tools for teaching and administration.
Language Profile
Fluency in English is required for this teaching role. The ability to understand and speak in French is an advantage.
