The Methods technician is responsible for defining, optimizing, and documenting manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role focuses on ensuring standardized instructions and procedures are well-documented and effectively communicated to production teams. The Methods technician works closely with production, engineering, and IT systems teams to integrate methodologies, tools, and technologies across the production lifecycle while ensuring cost control and lead time optimization. The critical manufacturing processes under the scope of this role include additive manufacturing, machining, and assembly of RF products for aerospace applications and satellites.
Job Requirements:
- CAD/CAM and CAD/CAM software: use computer-aided design and manufacturing tools.
- Production management: mastering CAPM and ERP software, analyzing and solving a variety of problems.
- Technical knowledge: Reading drawings, layout, functional dimensioning, configuration management.
- Quality and safety: Compliance with quality, health, safety and environment (QHSE) standards.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering role.
- Proven ability to document, standardize, and improve manufacturing processes with a focus on clarity and efficiency.
- Proficiency in PLM, ERP, MES, and WMS systems with a strong understanding of data integration and process automation.
- Experience in additive manufacturing, machining, and RF product assembly for aerospace applications and satellites.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for creating clear process documentation.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings of a sub-assembly or a complex part and translate them into comprehensive work instructions and SOPs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in aerospace, satellite, or RF component manufacturing.
- CAO - SolidWorks
- Hands-on experience with digital manufacturing and Industry 4.0 technologies.
Job responsibilites:
- Develop, document, and maintain the Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) to ensure accuracy in production planning.
- Define, document, and optimize Operational Flow (OF) and Gamme to establish standardized manufacturing processes.
- Act as an expert user of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), and WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) to ensure process standardization and integration.
- Create, update, and maintain work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and technical documentation to support manufacturing processes.
- Represent the Methods team in Production Readiness Reviews (PRR), ensuring that all manufacturing processes are well-documented and production teams have clear instructions before ramp-up.
- Design and draw simple or moderately complex tools to meet manufacturing or improvement requirements.
- Optimize and standardize manufacturing processes for additive manufacturing, machining, and RF product assembly, ensuring adherence to aerospace and satellite industry standards.
- Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to document and integrate best practices across manufacturing procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards in all documented manufacturing procedures.
- Support digital transformation initiatives by structuring and documenting manufacturing technologies and data analytics for process improvements.
