We are currently looking for a Chemoinformatics Specialist to oversee the migration of our chemical database to a contemporary, scalable, and secure technology platform. This position is perfect for a candidate with a robust background in chemistry and data science, coupled with practical experience in cheminformatics systems and tools.

Key Responsibilities: - Analyze the current chemical database architecture and technology stack to identify areas for improvement and modernization.
- Design and propose a modernized architecture utilizing up-to-date technologies and best practices to enhance performance, scalability, and security.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive migration plan, encompassing data mapping, transformation, validation, and testing to ensure a seamless transition.
- Ensure chemical data integrity, consistency, and compliance throughout the migration process, adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Research & Development (R&D) and Information Technology (IT), to align project goals and ensure successful implementation.
- Provide detailed technical documentation to support the new architecture and migration process, facilitating future maintenance and updates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Cheminformatics, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Proficiency in cheminformatics, including chemical structure representation, substructure search, and molecular data handling.
- Hands-on experience with chemical cartridges such as Biovia Direct, RDKit PostgreSQL, or ChemAxon JChem Cartridge.
- Solid understanding of database technologies (e.g., Oracle, ArangoDB, PostgreSQL, AWS RDS).
- Programming experience in Python, Java, R, and familiarity with web frameworks (e.g., AngularJS, ReactJS, Oracle APEX).
- Experience with workflow applications and data analytics software is a plus (Pipeline Pilot or KNIME).
