What works well?

Permanent hair removal is a niche market with strong demand and real development opportunities. There is indeed a place to be taken in the market. However, to make it work, it's essential to have a human approach that respects employees. The potential is there, but it needs to be properly exploited.

What could be improved?

When I applied, I was really enthusiastic about joining the team. The atmosphere seemed pleasant, the setting promising, and I accepted the position of assistant manager for the opening of the Geneva center with motivation and seriousness. Unfortunately, things quickly went wrong internally. Out of a sense of professionalism, I chose to leave without making any waves, respecting my commitments right up to the last day. When I signed my contract, a clause provided for a refund of training fees in the event of early departure. I sent a clear e-mail on the subject, explaining why I wouldn't be reimbursing them in view of all the things exposed, and my position remains unchanged. I'm being asked to pay for electrolysis training at an exorbitant price when, in actual fact, my training was not of a high standard. The center opened without our having graduated, and we were asked to lie about it. As for the second training course, we were automatically enrolled in a training center that was three times more expensive than any other in Switzerland, simply because it was the direct supplier of lasers. So far, I've preferred to keep certain realities to myself. But if the pressure continues to be exerted by management, I reserve the right to express myself more freely. The previous comments by female employees already hint at some of the truth. Too bad, the potential was there... but not everyone knows how to make good use of it.

What works well?

Not much, it's a real catastrophe! The break room in Lausanne is under the stairs. It's forbidden to go outside, because even during the break you have to answer the phone or go out to greet the customer. They don't know what overtime is!

What could be improved?

Working at La Maison d'épilation requires a real passion for the profession. Without it, daily life can quickly become difficult. Management is very demanding, which, in my opinion, is a positive thing, as it ensures serious, quality work for customers. However, this requirement must never make employees unhappy at work. There are many controls, whether in the booth, at reception or during consultations. We are filmed and listened to at all times (with proof). When we join the company, we're asked to post Google reviews of the various houses to improve SEO, which are often erroneous. As for what I "learned": the practice of electric hair removal. "Learned" in quotation marks, because I discovered that nobody really knew how to use this machine properly, which led to a revision of all the protocols. Management operates with a culture of fear, but I hope there will be changes to create a more fulfilling atmosphere. I've already seen colleagues cry in my arms after management has passed me by. The lack of respect on the part of management has sometimes led to discussions where I've even had to ask for an apology. There's a huge turnover, as evidenced by the fact that the longest-serving person in the company was only eight months old when I left. I've had a lot of fun developing this company, but I'm finally turning the page. I wish a lot of courage to those who are still here, because there's no recognition in the job and the wages are derisory. Unfortunately, this company will never keep its good people. It's just right for those who want to gain their first professional experience, but not for those who want to perform and build a career.
